In 1970 MTS Sensors was the first to employ the principle of magnetostriction for position sensors and liquid level gauges. We have thus rendered valuable pioneering work in the development of high-precision, future-oriented sensors. At three sites Lüdenscheid (Germany), Cary (North Carolina, USA) and Tokyo (Japan) 400 employees work in development, production and sales of linear position and liquid level sensors. Intensive basic research is efficiently merged with a consistent focus on practical requirements. Result is innovative sensor technology for a wide range of potential industrial and non-industrial applications.
Product: Temposonics® R-Series Position Sensor with POWERLINK Interface
The magnetostrictive linear Temposonics® R-Series position sensors are now available with an Ethernet POWERLINK output. They can easily be integrated into networks using the Powerlink V2 open protocol with M12 connector. The Node-ID can be entered via the software. The PLC identifies the sensor by means of XDD file and accesses its parameters as needed. The sensor is available with a flexible rod, with external housing, with an aluminium profile used for the external mounting on the machine or as a rod version to enable cylinder integration. The sensors detect up to four positions and velocity values with a resolution of 1 µm simultaneously.
